The Divisional Commissioner Hyderabad Jamal Mustafa Syed has directed the Sindh Police and District Administration Jamshoro to undertake their joint efforts and to ensure foolproof security plan, safe and smooth traffic flow on the eve of 3-day Annual Urs celebrations of Hazrat Lal Shahbaz Qalander(RA) to be commenced from June 28 to June 30 at Sehwan Sharif.
He directed to all stakeholders, organisations to co-ordinate and work to minimise the miseries of the devotees in all respects but facilitate to them at large. He directed that sanctity of this great event be maintained at any cost and any type of vulgarity, gambling or unlawful activities be restricted.
These directives he issued while presiding over a meeting on Tuesday regarding arrangements for 3-day Annual Urs celebrations of Hazrat Lal Shahbaz Qalander held at Shahbaz Hall Shahbaz Building Hyderabad. The Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Police Hyderabad Naeem Bhuroka, Deputy Commissioner Jamshoro Sajid Jamal Abro, Additional Commissioner Hyderabad Lal Dino Mangi, SEG Muhtasam Abbasi, SSP Jamshoro Khurram Waris, Chief Engineer Building Kazi Farooque, S.E Building Akhtar Dawach, Director Local Government Zahid Khemtio, S.E Hesco Abdul Sattar Soho, representatives from Motorway Police, PTCL, Health, Culture, Sports and other lined departments attended the meeting and discussed Urs celebrations.
While endorsing the security plan presented by SSP Jamshoro Khurram Waris, it was decided in the meeting that Sehwan Sharif would be divided into 6 security zones and each zone be supervised by SP Rank officer of Sindh Police. Besides, the decisions for continuous patrolling by 10 police mobiles, forming rapid response force, rescue force with 10 police mobiles and 240 police personnel and snap checking at different entering points from Hyderabad to Sehwan Sharif from Dadu-Moro bridge to Sehwan Sharif, installation of CC TV Cameras, jammers, metal detecting equipments at different places were made in the meeting. The SSP Jamshoro informed the meeting that more than 3,100 police personnel would be deployed to implement on the security plan during the urs celebrations.
The Deputy Commissioner Jamshoro Sajid Jamal Abro while expressing his apprehensions over the frequent fatal accidents due to reckless driving criticised over the performance of NHA, especially at Indus Highway. He was of the view that NHA virtually abandon this Highway and has not installed even signboards for speed limits, warning boards for populations, curves or removing bushes or sand deposits on the road made due to strong winds.
During the discussion on the health facilities and rapid response to the emergency and trauma, the Divisional Commissioner expressed his dissatisfaction and said that the rapid response in emergency and trauma by health department always remain unsatisfactory.
